We launched the Recycle 2 Mobilise Project in March 2018 to help prevent mobility items from heading straight to landfill.
This project enables people to donate their unwanted mobility equipment to us. These items must be in an acceptable condition or require only minor repairs. We restore them to an acceptable standard and resell them at a low cost, helping individuals retain their independence and mobility.
The purpose of this project is to recycle unwanted, abandoned, and unused mobility equipment, restoring donated items to an acceptable standard. This enables us to offer this equipment for purchase at a low price to people on low incomes, helping them become more mobile. Any items that do not meet our standards will be recycled, broken up, and the good parts sold accordingly, ensuring good practice for the Recycle 2 Mobilise project.
The Recycle 2 Mobilise project addresses the financial challenges faced by people with mobility impairments by offering an alternative to purchasing new equipment.
We provide a drop-off and collection service for all donated mobility equipment, including electric mobility scooters, wheelchairs, power chairs, and other disability aids from individuals and suppliers. This equipment is taken to our disability-friendly workshop for servicing, repair, or recycling.
Recycle 2 Mobilise focuses on providing affordable mobility equipment and a repair and maintenance service that helps disabled individuals carry out day-to-day activities. Our aim is to enhance access to local communities, thereby reducing isolation and loneliness.
Please note that we are currently unable to accept toilet aids such as commodes or toilet seats unless they are brand new.
