What is Ring & Ride and can I use it?

Our Ring & Ride service provides friendly accessible transport for people of all ages & abilities who are unable to easily access public transport. To use Ring & Ride simply register your details with us initially and then pre-book your seat whenever you wish to join the bus. Where possible, we offer a “door-to-door” service and can accommodate passengers travelling in wheelchairs.

What if I need to use a Scooter?

We are unable to carry mobility scooters, but we can take you to our Shop & Leisure Mobility Centre in Tiverton on request.

Where and when can I travel?

Our Ring & Ride service offers a weekday trip from neighbouring villages to local destination towns, arriving approximately 11am and departing approximately 1pm. Please click on the relevant link below for details on our current routes. Our Tiverton Ring & Ride covers the following parishes.

MONDAY

The following route runs to Tiverton every  Monday: Starting from the Halberton area  approx. 9.10am via villages including Sampford Peverell, Willand, Uffculme, Hemyock, Westleigh, Clayhidon and Burlescombe. Return journey  departs from Tiverton at 1pm.

TUESDAY

The following route runs to Tiverton every  Tuesday: Starting from the Halberton area  approx. 9.15am via villages including Willand, Uffculme, Whitnage, Sampford Peverell, Cullompton and Uplowman. Return journey  departs from Tiverton at 1pm.

WEDNESDAY

We operate a Passenger Club every  Wednesday: Please see our newsletter for the latest destinations. Departs from Tiverton between 9am & 10am and returns around 2.30pm.

THURSDAY

The following route runs to Tiverton every Thursday: Starting from the Bampton area  approx. 9.00am via villages including Bampton, Stoodleigh, Cove, Morebath, Shillingford, Bolham, Washfield, Brushford and Tiverton. Return journey departs Tiverton at 1pm.

FRIDAY

The following route runs to Tiverton every  Friday: Starting from the Calverleigh area  approx. 9.15am via villages including  Templeton, Loxbeare, Rackenford, Pennymoor, Poughill, Puddington, Witheridge, Withleigh and Tiverton. Return journey departs Tiverton at 1pm. We are always looking to improve and trial new Ring & Ride services. Services could run fortnightly or monthly and we could consider alternating the destination or day of travel according to suggested preferences. How do I book?

Call us on 01884 242099 (between 9am and 3pm Monday to Friday) or email us at info@middevonmobility.org.uk.  Once registered, trips can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance but no later than 3pm the previous working day.

How much does it cost?

For most Ring & Ride services, we offer a fixed return fare from as little as £5.00. We are unable to accept the National Bus Pass currently, but we hope to do so in future.

How is Ring & Ride funded?

Our Ring & Ride service is partially funded by Devon County and Mid Devon District Councils. The remainder is funded through fares and donations. It is a service we provide as part of our charitable objectives and public benefit to help improve transport opportunities to individuals within the community.
